Understanding that student life extends beyond academics, IISc has established comprehensive wellness infrastructure. The Institute partners with YourDOST, a leading online mental health platform, providing 24/7 professional counselling services to all students at no cost. By signing up with their official IISc email address (@iisc.ac.in), students gain access to 1000+ certified experts who offer confidential guidance on academic stress, career concerns, relationships, and personal development. The platform combines one-on-one chat and video consultations with self-help resources including self-awareness modules, assessment tests, and community forums.
The Centre for Counselling and Support (CCS), established in 2001, provides psychological counselling services through qualified counselling psychologists. Additionally, specialized support cells operate within the center, including the Women's Grievance Redressal Cell and the Internal Committee Against Sexual Harassment (ICASH), ensuring a safe and inclusive campus environment.
Health Centre and Medical Facilities
Located conveniently on campus, the Health Centre provides comprehensive medical care with round-the-clock services including outpatient, inpatient, and emergency care. The centre is staffed with experienced doctors and authorized medical officers, with specialist consultants available in Medicine, Gynaecology, Dermatology, Eye care, and Psychiatry. Additional facilities include a full-fledged physiotherapy unit, dental unit focusing on preventive dentistry, ultrasound facilities, and a computerized pharmacy. The institute covers all students under the Student Medical Care Scheme, providing an annual reimbursement of Rs. 5,000 for medical expenses, with inpatient coverage up to Rs. 3 lakh per annum for major illnesses.
